Women And Tattoos Becoming Very Popular

Tattoos Have Become Popular What Do You Think?
More and more women have been getting tattoos on their bodies. It is an expression of art. I do find this very fascinating and wanted to write about it. I just recently found out that the Bible refers to Tattoos in Leviticus 19:28 (Amplified) which says, "Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print or tattoo any marks upon you: I am the Lord." I didn't know this until recently. I don't think that God would condemn anyone but if you are thinking of getting one maybe you should think twice about it.
Tattoos work by piercing the skin with a needle and injecting little gobs of ink. With that being said the risk of infection when getting a tattoo is always there. If the tattoo artist isn't sanitary and doesn't sterilize the equipment after every use, the risk of infection will be much higher. Also if you decide one day that you want to give blood you will not be allowed to. The Red Cross will not take blood from someone who has a tattoo.
I think in today's job market, especially if you want a career in the medical or dental field it is very frowned upon, even in today's society. It may be hard to get hired. There are many celebrities like Lady Gaga, and Angeli Joli that have them but let's face it they are in show business. There are pros and con's with them but I think mostly con's. Most men nick name or refer to them (Tattoos) as a " Tramp Stamp." and some men do find them too be sexy. One thing you do need to think of in the future when you get older, and we will all be there one day, is that what will they look like on a wrinkled body or when you are old and grey? Will they still be sexy? I think if you are thinking of one try a stick on one first to see if you like it. I know it's not the same but you will get an idea if it's truly something you really want. Remember it is permanent. They can be removed but you can still see that something used to be there and it is very costly to remove. If you get some one's name like a boyfriend or girlfriend. Love does not always last so you don't want a lasting memory of someone on your body if you happen to break up. This happens quite a bit.
I hope this article gave you a few things to think about before making the choice. Please feel free to leave feedback. Do you think women should or should not get them?? I would love to read them!

I'm torn, becasue I've seen tattoos that have added to a womans allure, and some that have detracted. I think the tattoo should be important and significant, and if it's tastefully shown then can be very sexy. I knew an attractive women with a Hello Kitty tattoo on her bum, but it was distracting. I felt it was looking at me.
Z,
LOL- thats awesome and creepy

Personally I don't think a tattoo enhances the beauty of a woman. Some men feel it is a macho thing. As you have said it is personal choice and I chose not.
To each his own! But, there must be a reason that removal is now the most common plastic surgery. Personally I find them ugly on men and women.
I got my first tattoo when I was 35, not exactly a juvenile or rash decision in my case. I really was more concerned with creating art with personal meaning to me - art I could wear, not pleasing anyone else who may happen to look at me. I have three now and am designing my fourth, its been a year in the making. As it turns out, they are all in places you wouldn't see if I was dressed for work, but obvious if I'm in summer casual clothes. I'm not Xtian, so the bible thing doesn't matter to me, but I respect you all who do have that stipulation. Most people I know who do have tattoos, they don't get them to make a statement to other people - maybe you refer to street or "gang tattoos", but I don't know anyone like that.
People I know design their own and they have a very personal meaning to a specific event or something very close to their heart. Many are also religious, spiritual or even cultural. I don't judge a person by their tattoo...
Thanks for writing such a great article that sparked great conversation. Up and useful!

Hi Sandy:
i'll never figure out why you decided to follow me, but I'm glad ya did...Thanks :)
I always read a hub by a new friend :)
I don't mind a small tattoo on a female, but when they go to extremes? uh uh ! Ugly!
I'm an old guy, but even when I was a dating young guy, I'd never date a female with tattoos or who smoked.
I'm glad to have ya aboard and curious as to why you made this decision...me being an "ignostic."
Oh well...:)

Thank you young lady for writing this hub. A lot of young people overlook the Bible and don't even consider the fact of what's it going to look like in 15 - 20 years. My brother had his first wife's name put on his arm and then divorced and his next wife made him remove it. Boys and girls think it makes them look tough and/or sexy. I'm older but know many young people who feel the same way I do. It's bad enough for a guy but worse for girls. Tattoos look trashy and the 'tat parlors' are not healthy places. Rated up and useful...
